Vitamin C
Cancer Treatment

The power of intravenous vitamin C cancer treatment is well known. Discover here the details of the therapy, with survival rates and locations of providers.

Since the 1970s, when Linus Pauling, PhD, and others studied its effects in more than 1000 patients with advanced cancer, IVC has been used with great success, says Julian Whitaker, M.D., in his Health and Healing newsletter, April 2014. (Dr. Whitaker operates a large integrative clinic in Newport Beach, California.)

Compared to a control group of terminal patients treated with chemo and radiation, those who received oral and IV vitamin C for cancer reportedly lived, on average, four times longer, with a significantly improved quality of life.

Threatened by this inexpensive vitamin C cancer treatment, those invested in conventional treatment mounted a "dishonest" multi-pronged attack against this work, including studies "designed to fail," says Dr. Whitaker.

Intravenous vitamin C and cancer

Oral intake of Vitamin C does not get enough into the blood to have the desired effect, but IV administration of vitamin C therapy for cancer bypasses the gastrointestinal tract, so that the much larger blood concentrations that affect cancer cells may be achieved.

High levels of vitamin C in the blood produce hydrogen peroxide, which does not harm normal cells but is toxic to cancer cells. High dose IV vitamin C therapy for cancer has been shown in multiple lab, animal and human studies to destroy or slow the growth of a variety of cancers, including breast, ovary, pancreas, colon, prostate and liver, as well as mesothelioma, sarcoma, multiple myeloma and leukemia.

There are documented cases of high-dose IV vitamin C cancer treatment curing cancer, but today it is usually used in conjunction with conventional chemotherapy and radiation. Used this way, it boosts the effectiveness of the conventional treatments while greatly reducing negative side effects, such as fatigue and nausea.

"Intravenous vitamin C is proving to be one of the best all around Integrative Therapies," says Mark Stengler, ND, in his Health Revelations newsletter, April 2014. Dr. Stengler also mentions Linus Pauling, a molecular biologist and the only person ever to win two unshared Nobel Prizes. Dr. Pauling and his colleague, Dr. Ewan Cameron, former Chief of Surgery at Vale of Leven Hospital in Scotland, used much higher doses of IV vitamin C cancer treatment than are used today to get their positive results.

You can still get their book on Amazon.com, Kindle, Hardcover and Paperback. It's title is Cancer and Vitamin C: A Discussion of the Nature, Causes, Prevention, and Treatment of Cancer With Special Reference to the Value of Vitamin C, Updated and Expanded. Publication date is June 2011. The Amazon reviews of the book make interesting reading.

There is a clinic, the Riordan Clinic, in Wichita, Kansas, USA, which has used IV vitamin C to help tens of thousands of cancer patients, and has been publishing their own research for 15+ years. According to their data, "...vitamin C is toxic to tumor cells without sacrificing the performance of chemotherapy." The Riordan Clinic has found that tumor cells become susceptible to high dose IV vitamin C cancer treatment at plasma levels of 350 to 400 mg/dL. (Ask your doctor what that means.) Read more about the Riordan Clinic for IV vitamin C cancer treatment.

Dr. Stengler's article echoes much of what Dr. Whitaker said, with additional detail.

There is a very long list of references, scientific articles at the end of Dr. Stengler's article, 18 of them to be exact. I'm not going to reproduce all that tiny type here. I will give some info from the seventh reference: Normal healthy cells are able to neutralize the effects of hydrogen peroxide with an enzyme known as catalase. Since cancer cells lack this enzyme, they die. A study in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science of the United States of America showed that "IVC selectively kills cancer cells by delivering hydrogen peroxide to tissues."

Some doctors are concerned about the antioxidant effect of IVC, since high oxidation is a goal of chemotherapy. However, research on interactions between vitamin C and cancer drugs finds little in the way of negative interactions. (That's from the eighth reference on the list.)

Dosage details are given in the article, along with minerals, etc. added to the solution, but I can't give that here. That is up to you and your doctor.

Dr. Stengler says research has found it takes a minimum of 12 to 15 treatments, at one to three treatments per week, to find out whether or not the therapy is working. Each treatment takes an hour and a half to two hours. He says side effects are uncommon, but it's important for the patient to eat a well-balanced meal before treatment and to drink plenty of water before, during and afterwards. There are more details about the treatment and details about lab work that I don't feel comfortable giving here.

Wow, there's a lot more heavy-duty detail about chemotherapy vs IVC and the pros and cons in the newsletter article. Only medical professionals would be willing to plough through all this, but really, if you are considering this vitamin C cancer treatment, you owe it to yourself and to your doctor to get this issue of Health Revelations. It is easy to find on the Internet.

Summary of IVC benefits and cautions

Update: I just found a must-read article on vitamin C cancer treatment from Dr. Stengler's Facebook page. Here, he lays it all out, in easy-to-read format, including cautions about IVC. It has pretty much everything that was in the newsletter except the technical references.

IV vitamin C for sepsis

Virginia Pilot, March 23, 2017: Dr. Paul Marik and other critical care doctors have started using a combination of vitamin C, hydrocortisone and thiamine to treat sepsis. One of his patients appeared to be dying of sepsis, an immune response an infection in her blood that was causing her blood pressure to plummet, her organs to fail and her breathing to labor. Dr. Marik, chief of pulmonary and critical care at Eastern Virginia Medical School, had seen medical journal articles about vitamin C and decided to order IV infusions of it, along with hydrocortisone, a steroid, to reduce inflammation.

The next morning, the patient had improved so much she was removed from four different medications used to boost her blood pressure. Her kidney function was better. Her breathing eased. Three days later, she left the ICU.

That wasn't the only time Dr. Marik saved a patient's life with IV vitamin C for sepsis, but this is a page about cancer, not sepsis. I only include this info to confirm the value of IV vitamin C. Read the whole article: A Norfolk doctor found a treatment for sepsis.

"Come to Me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest."  Matthew 11:28.

A number of studies have linked prayer to healing, and although the results have been inconclusive, what could it hurt to talk to the omnipotent creator of the universe? A prayer for healing might go something like this:

"Dear Lord, please hear me now as I pray for your help with (name your problem). I pray you’ll cleanse my body and heal me completely. In Jesus’ name I pray; Amen."
